Takhlakh Lake Trip -- July 3 and 4, 2009.

This is a picturesque and popular remote campground in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Click for my Photos. The snow was still melting at our site and others on this 4th of July weekend. The mosquitos were absolutely ruthless, and led to our early departure.

The campground is reachable only after traversing several miles of twisting, rutted and potholed, gravel road. There are pit toilets, but no potable water, and no hookups. Nearest services are 40 miles or so away.
